First Presentation Topic: Helping End-Users Understand SharePoint Permissions

Patrick Reeves is Senior IT Product Manager for Microsoft SharePoint and Windows Web Server at Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E). He started a company-wide SharePoint User Group inside PG&E, and continually trains his internal customers on a variety of SharePoint topics. This month Patrick will share with us one of the all-time favorite topics of SharePoint users everywhere…Permissions! Whether you are an end-user seeking to learn more about SharePoint Permissions, or an experienced SharePoint professional who needs tips on training your end-users on this topic, our April 10th meeting will be interesting and informative.

Speaker bio:
Patrick Reeves has been messing around with computers since he laid fingers on a TRS-80 computer in the late 70’s; and then proceeded to drive the guys at Radio Shack crazy by coming in every day to play with it. His first job in computers was writing 6510 & 6809 assembly code for a small graphics processing shop in the early 80’s, for the Commodore 64 and Radio Shack Color Computer. He has worked at Pacific Gas and Electric Co. for the last twenty years, where he deployed SharePoint Team Services (v1.0) & Microsoft Content Management System in 2002 and has been managing the environment ever since. His current project is migrating a 10TB SP2007 farm to SP2013.
