First Presentation Topic: Managing Change Control in SharePoint

In this session, Chris Chung (founder of Essention Group) will discuss SharePoint’s robust platform for delivering applications because it makes end users easily able to author applications. It is that very benefit that users can create some interesting challenges not present in traditional application development platforms. In this discussion, Chris will cover his experience and talk about better ways to handle application governance (how to limit, monitor and manage users’ access to the features in the application) and change management (how to effectively manage changes, upgrades, deployments, etc., and at the same time minimizing your risk). Having been in the field for a number of years, Chris will present what he’s seen at the implementation level and have an open forum discussion about how to specifically address issues.

Speaker bio:
Chris Chung, Founder of Essention Group – Chris Chung has been working with SharePoint for over 10 years, primarily in consulting projects related to application development, content management, migrations, upgrades, and ongoing application support. First Presentation Topic: Developing Applications in Office 365 SharePoint Online

SP Marketplace started building applications for multi-tenant SharePoint environments in 2011. Today they have over 200 organizations using their business applications. With the advent of Office 365 SharePoint Online, many organizations are moving to the cloud, but many are confused over what can and cannot be done with SharePoint Online. This presentation will cover what limitations there are, how they got around them, and they will provide examples of business applications built for a SharePoint Online environment. Application examples will include an Intranet Portal, Employee Self-Service, HR and IT Help Desk.

Speaker bio:

Darrell Trimble, CEO SP Marketplace – Darrell is a 30 year veteran of the software industry.  He was on the founding executive team in several successful companies including Veritas Software, Vignette and Commerce One. Over the last 7 years, he has been focused on SharePoint applications as a partner in Crow Canyon Systems and most recently as founder of SharePoint Marketplace.

Second Presentation Topic: Using CloudShare to Accelerate SharePoint Solution Dev

Moving your development to the Cloud has many advantages above and beyond the standard cloud ones. Fewer environment variables, faster releases, and being more opportunistic about the solutions you build. Learn about the benefits of Cloud Based Development and Testing, and find out how CloudShare’s service differs from the other public clouds and how it can specifically enhance the quality and delivery of SharePoint projects.

Speaker bio:

Chris Riley, CloudShare – Chris is the voice of the market for CloudShare (a cloud service built specifically for development and testing). He specializes in SaaS, Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development, as well as taking abstract technology to end-user reality. Chris holds degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Business Administration from Regis University in Colorado, and certifications from AIIM in SharePoint, Capture, Information Architecture, and ECM.
